Knitting Frenzy

Why is it that whenever I have to make two of something they always look like crazy cousins instead of siblings, much less identical siblings.

I have come to accept the idea I read about in the Yarn Harlot's Meditations for Women Who Knit too Much book about self patterning socks being expected to have fraternal rather than identical twins. At least I sort of have accepted this.

As an aside, my mission on my next pair of self-patterning socks is to try and make them at the same time and hopefully they will match because I will have developed a magical ability to make the patterning in the dye shift at will...

I've enjoyed reading lots of Thankful lists. I started the socks for my SITM Twice Swap Pal, but I've also made 4 mittens, none of which looks remotely like the others. Ugh.

Thanksgiving Thursday

The SITM Swap has encouraged this post, but I'm a big fan of paying attention to what I am thankful for (as you know)...

2. Fond Memories of childhood (I'm the one with the patriotic sundress...my eyes are closed because I'm imagining the future filled with knitting and fabulous fiber).

5. My first niece...she'll be 5 in April!!

Thankful Tuesday

Since Thursday has gone to the dogs, I am going to re-institute my Gratitude Day for Tuesday. It does not have the ring to it that Thankful Thursday did but it's the content that matters, right?

I am really thankful for Chicago Sarah whose comment about naming sheep and cows tickles me to no end. I am also thankful for her consistent respect and kindness. I'm so blessed to know you, girlfriend!

I'm thankful for situation comedies on television, because I need belly laughs sometimes after long days at work.

I'm thankful for my job.

Oh, and yarn. Love yarn.
