Here is the February Lady in Red. I had to wait for the longer cord to come from Knit Picks (I'm using options needles -- LOVE them).
I have a ways to go, but so far I know she fits me. You might recall that I have in past overestimated my size and made garments that were too big for me and I ended up annoyed. Frogging the tomato was actually a relief because I knew I could make something better with the yarn (Blue Sky Alpacas Dyed Cotton in Tomato). I am, after all, a product knitter, rather than a process knitter.
I've also almost finished my Comfy Toddler Poncho which I will write up and put on Ravelry. Plan is to put a picot trim on the bottom edge (I don't really like fringe so much). The colors are a little off because there wasn't enough light for the photo, but you get the idea.
I've also been making little sewn projects...here is one of the eye pillows, which I think I might start selling on Etsy. Not sure yet.
Happy Valentine's Day!

Friday Fill-Ins (one week behind)

I'm using the Fill-ins from last week...but since you've never seen my answers, they are NEW TO YOU ha ha.
1. Please don't tell Gracie that she is my favorite.
2. Can you make me a cafe au lait with a pump or two of raspberry in the morning?
3. The color brown makes me want to cozy up and eat chocolate!
4. I have a craving for more sleep.
5. If my life had a pause button, I'd pause it now, so I could sleep some more.
6. Eyes are the most amazing ocean blue on Lehu.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to extra sleep (notice a theme here?), tomorrow my plans include work and knitting with Sarah and Sunday, I want to see a movie or something!

Dogs On Thursday

This is a knitting blog, sort of, but I haven't talked about knitting for a while. I am working on a February Lady Sweater...it is coming along nicely. I'm using the yarn that once was "The Tomato" which turned out wonky and too big.
I'm also working on a poncho for a cute little girl in Southern Illinois (no blog name yet, but she was born the exact same day as Birdie was), and the pattern (I'm making it up as I go along again) is easy so a cute little girl in Michigan (Birdie) might get one and a couple of other cute little girls in California too (nieces).
Photos will come.
P.S. Gracie doing okay, thank goodness.

Spring Cleaning Challenge

Hah! I have some serious cleaning and clearing to do. So I am in. I want to start with my clothes which have moved out of the closet and all over the guest room bed. Embarrassing, I know...but even more reason to participate in this.

Aww, Shucks (Part 2)
Anita gave me this award... I'm so honored! And I really like the graphic a lot. I now am supposed to share it with 5 others. At least, that is what Anita did.

2009 Gracie's Golden Blogger Awards
And here it is...Miss Gracie sporting the Go Steelers! Lace Scarf. For a little shameless self-promotion (the pattern is FREE and is also available on Ravelry...so far 24 people have made it a fave (I'm so proud)...
- A blogger that I read regularly who also comments on my blog, therefore constituting a blogland friendship. You might notice some duplication in my award granting, this my friends, is part of what is so lovely about blogland. I've made some friends who are really important to me here in blogland.
- Similar to #1, a blogger or blog that has been supportive of us in our quest to get Gracie healthy, and to keep her that way (no small task, let me tell ya).
- I will also likely award honorary awards to people who do not have blogs who fit #2.
Lisa, for being my very first blog reader and for being a kindred spirit. She is pure gold.
Sarah, for setting the gold standard for friendship. She's one in a million. Honorary award goes to her new hubby who sends me hilarious youtube videos that I appreciate very much.
Katie, for winning my very first contest! Go for the gold, girl!
Lauren, for being a dog lover with a heart of gold. She hasn't been blogging as much lately, but she is a great knitter and her blog is fun to read.
Robin Gold stars to you for being a fearless knitter! And, a fellow yogi, with the cutest little pup and a cat named Ace who has an incredibly strong personality.
Cactusneedles whose hats and cable knitting ability amaze me. She's in Arizona with golden sunshine that I wish I could experience on a daily basis. Woofs to Ella, Gracie's blogger buddy.
