Finished Objects Friday

Aha!

I have a few FO's to share with you. My goal is to be "clean slate" when January 18th rolls around so I can focus on the lace for the Secret of the Stole ii. No promises, but I like to try to accomplish things and this is as good as any way to do it.

I finished the Moving to Baltimore hat for Fred (my brother). I will be making something a little more feminine for Ginger (his wife). I'm not sure yet. The yarn is SO THICK that I need to gear up for it after doing socks for so long. Idgie is checking to see if she thinks the pretzel knot on top of the hat is alright for Fred.

I have also finished my SITMT Socks (except for weaving in a couple of ends and blocking them). They are 100% fraternal and not identical socks. I do hope that my pal will be forgiving.

And here's one of the first hats I ever made. It's got a little colorwork and it was in yarn (merino, yum) that I really liked working with. Lost the label, so I have no clue what it was. So sad. As you can see Idgie was inspector on this one too. I should make little tags that say "Inspected by Idgie." But I won't.

I'm almost finished with the back of the Sonnet. It is cool, it's knit all in one piece from side to side. I'm adding a few elements of my own design but mostly sticking to the pattern. I'm going to get some kind of artsy fartsy buttons in chunky wood, maybe. Don't know, kind of need to see what it starts looking like first.

  1. artsy fartsy? Want help picking them out?! :)

I really like the Baltimore hat. Didn't think I would, I was set on a scarf, but it looks really great!

  2. These are very cute. Must go well with the Chicago winters... I'm in Toronto and could use one of those myself these days!
