A Day Late and A Daddy Short

My dad would have been 68 yesterday (September 15th). I wound up with something of a low-grade migraine all day yesterday which wasn't surprising since I'm so darn sensitive to anniversaries and remembering significant dates.

This photo is from 1976 or 1977. The dog is Gulliver, he was a little love. Gracie does this same thing ... sitting on a lap as though she might be actually a lap dog or something.

Gulliver was much more red than Gracie is, he was a great pal to me as a kid. He was a great listener (ha ha).

I hate to be so down, but seems like that's just par for the course. Some days are good, some aren't. I'm overall doing well, just in tune with some of the lost-ness I feel without my dad.

I appreciate your reading and all of your support!!! Knitting to follow soon. Almost done with the funky socks for ee and finished some MiniMe socks for a coworker's niece (they match the socks I made for the coworker).

  1. Great photo. I've never had a dog that didn't think it was a lapdog... except maybe Fred.

I've been in a mild funk for several weeks now. I think the multiple deaths over the last two years have taken their toll, finally. Being in tune to it is a healthy thing though, right?

  2. That's a great picture. I can't imagine life without my dad. It seems like alot of us are going through a rough patch lately. Here's a big [[[hug]]] from me, and tail wags and sloppy wet kisses from Emma, Tara & Cooper.

  3. I find the anniversaries incredibly hard too. I really understand. And I love the photo.
