Progress is Happening

Because I'm not sure if my SITM Pal knows who I am...I am risking spoiling the surprise by showing pics of my progress on these socks. This said, I am sure that she will be supportive of this, my third pair of socks EVER (thank you SITM Pal, if you are reading).

I'm using a basic sock pattern combining it with a _____ pattern with a special ____. I just can't say more.

But I'll show you pics, because after frogging the entire foot and a better part of the heel (which was at least an inch too wide), I have now gotten farther, and my confidence is steely. Phew.

Can I tell you how much I LOVE my Addi #1 needles? And, thank you so much Lisa for suggesting the idea of doing socks on 2 circs. I'm converted. So much easier to keep track of two circular needles than 4 or 5 dpns. I'm thrilled. And, the adjustment time was very short since the knitting is so much faster. I am even feeling bold enough to NOT put off the second one since I'm turning the heel on the first one now, I imagine that the second one is soon to be complete as well.

Happy Happy.

  1. I am so glad that you like the circs. They have made sock knitting fun again for me. I have made two pair of footies in a little less than two weeks using them. Now if only I could master making two at a time on circs....2008 goal perhaps.

Your SITMT pal will love them! You will have to share all the details when the swap is over.

  2. the circs are great, aren't they? and your socks look fabulous - i'm sure that your pal will love them.

i haven't got the hang of magic loop yet, but everyone i know who uses it assures me that it is even faster than the two circs - is that possible?

    p.s. thanks for dropping by...

  3. I just picked up that book last night to check out the method. My knitting bag now has two attempts balled up in frustration, so I'm letting it cool off and I'll try it again. :)

Of course I have Jer's hat to make between now and Monday, anyway!
