No, no it was the 3rd of November. But that just doesn't make for good lyrics to a song now does it? I was about 2:30 pm today when Lehu and I sat down to chill out, Gracie gets "couch time" with me, and I get to knit and we were going to watch our Ugly Betty episodes (we are two behind now, so we were trying to get caught up) from the Tivo.
Well, part of this routine was to clean out the hound's ears which are prone to being a little icky. Today, they were downright gross. I called the vet to make sure of what time they closed, "We close at 4 but we ask that you come at 3:30."
I got the purple harness which is ideal for the dog who likes to look pretty at the same time as not choking herself with excitement and pulling the lead.
"Wanna go to the vet?"
Gracie hears blah blah ... go ... and sees the leash and harness and she's at the door ready for a car ride.
"Okay, let's go." She stumbles down the back stairs and prances to the garage door. When I open the door she steps into the garage, looks back and I say, "let's go in my car, that's mom's car." She goes forward and waits near the back door of my car. So cute.
"Hop in." She does.
We drive the 2 miles (or so) to the vet and there are no parking spaces in the lot. OMG, they are busy. Ugh. I park on the street, we get out and someone (not me) needs to piddle. She does.
When we get in there, the girl at the desk says, "Hi Gracie." As I navigate around a very handsome Doberman mix toward the middle bench. I smile and say hi there to her. She is so sweet.
We made friends with an adorable white Samoyed and with the Doberman mix. A terrier that came out after around an hour, barked and growled at all of us. We were the last ones seen since we got there at around 3:15 pm.
I do love our vet's office though, they are really nice people and the vet is so good to Gracie. It helps that Gracie LOVES every person she meets, and the ones who love her back get it back two-fold (or more).
We left with a tube of our favorite ear medication, since both ears have yucky infections. Seems like this time of year is a little more troublesome for her than others.
I promise knitting photos in tomorrow's post.
