Sunny Saturday in May

Lehu went to eldest niece's college graduation today, four hour drive on a sunny saturday morning in May ... she left this morning at 5 am to pick up the sister of the aforementioned niece at the airport. She flew in from San Francisco where she is a ballerina having just finished the trainee program (she is in the photo of the trainees, bottom right) and is now an apprentice dancer with the company. Here's another shot of her, so graceful.

I on the other hand will be working until 2:30. At 2:30 the plan (if it doesn't rain) is to come home and plant the other hydrangea, finish watching the movie I didn't finish last night because I fell asleep, and work on the tomato. I am about to the point where I will need to decrease below the bustline.

ETA: I just learned (after a little Internet research) that ants are not required to make peonies bloom. Interesting. Thanks Sarah for asking :)

  1. Congrats to the grad! The ballerina pictures are wonderful. Imiss the girls not dancing anymore.....

Ants are attracted to the nectar of the flowers.....they are all over the ones at Wifey's parents' house too....go figure.

  2. Try sprinkling cinnamon on the peony buds to discourage the ants. That's my tip for the day!
