Sunny but Chilly - Garden Update

Had a productive day yesterday, except for the hour or so I was stuck in traffic in an attempt to obtain a rain barrel for $30! I never got there because it would have taken me another 45 minutes to get there and with the cost of gas, I think it might be cheaper to just buy the darn thing and have it shipped...

Oh well.

  • Worked until 3 (I got the darn Verizon wireless modem to work, hooray).
  • I did plant the second (different variety) hydrangea and gave it a good soak afterwards. I am eager to see if it blooms blue or pink...it is very exciting indeed.
  • Made some headway on the tomato. No pics yet...not enough progress to warrant them.
  • Gave Gracie a bath
  • Mowed the lawn
  • Sprayed the lawn with Weed and Feed
  • Pulled up a number of the spectacular dandelion crop I've been cultivating (no, not on purpose).
Poor Lehu, a lot of driving yesterday. She got home around 8 pm! Long day.

Today, I am torn between a graduation party for the college grad niece and a softball game with people (fun people) from work.

  2. I ADORE hydrangea. We have some upstate that my grandma planted in the 1940s, still going strong. I love the way it goes through stages in its blooming, each one more beautiful than the last. I still have a bunch, dried from last autumn. Even that's lovely.
