Knitting Group Meeting

Hooray! Another meeting of our illustrious knitting group. Hosted by the one, the only Chicago Sarah who, instead of knitting, prepared to make tote bags for a craft fair. How cool is she?! One of the fabrics is a paint by numbers of birds, note that Sarah is humbly pointing to this neat-o graphic.

We were graced by a very special guest to our group, my mom! She's the one knitting purple, turquoise and white (a very nice sweater from elann sonata for my eldest neice).

We also had Mandy (knitting a very special gift for some friends who will be having their commitment ceremony at the end of the month). It has come a LONG way. She is using Plymouth Encore for her project. It is really looking nice.

And, last but certainly not least, we had Mandy's soon-to-be coworker. We will call her Potter since she loves Harry Potter so much. Hope she'll approve of the nick. If not, I will change it for later. She was knitting with some fancy fibers in multicolors -- even has a little glitz plied in. Fanciful.

The meeting took place in the lovely, breezy condo of our hostess with the mostest. It was a very nice day in Chicago today. Phew, I'll tell ya! It's been freaking hot lately and knitting is not much fun in the heat.

CKG and her mom showed up late since the blue line isn't running past Clark and Lake on Sundays so CKG drove downtown to pick her up and then back north to the gathering. We were a little tardy. At the end of the meeting, we met Lehu, and CKG's step-father for Lehu's belated birthday dinner at our favorite Mexican place.

It was a great day!

  3. Note: I will need to write the story of why I was late. It was a bit comical.
